FacebookPhase 2Parents FREnter Quebec groups usefully, three weeks into their school year
EEEducateED CanadaParent group postFacebook

A question for parents of secondary students: three weeks in, can you already see the subject that is going to be a problem this year? For us it is nearly always the same one, grade 9 math. Not because the child changed, but because the curriculum stacks, and a step missed in September shows up in November. If that sounds familiar, here is the question to ask at the parent-teacher meeting: what does the class do next? Working one step ahead of the class changes everything, and it costs the same hour. (I work at EducateED, a tutoring platform. Happy to share a link only if the group rules allow it.)

EEEducateED CanadaParent group postFacebook

Why: Group rules are read before posting and the disclosure is in the post. One post per group, never the same text across groups.

Why: The French ad points at the French landing page. Sending Quebec traffic to an English page is a conversion problem before it is a compliance problem.

FacebookPhase 3Immersion parentsReach the audience that learns in French and searches in English
EEEducateED CanadaCommunity postFacebook

If your child is in French immersion and you do not speak French, homework help is a strange problem: you can see something is wrong and you cannot read the page. Two things that help. First, ask the teacher whether the difficulty is in the French or in the subject, because those need different help. Second, when you look for a tutor, ask whether they have taught the immersion program specifically, not just whether they speak French. Those are not the same thing, and it is the question most families forget to ask.

EEEducateED CanadaCommunity postFacebook

Why: This one runs in English first. Immersion is an anglophone program, so the parents are searching and scrolling in English even though the schoolwork is in French.

LinkedInPhase 1TutorsRecruit tutors by answering the pay question in the first two lines
EEEducateED CanadaRecruitment postLinkedIn

We are hiring tutors for the fall, and here are the two numbers you actually want before you read any further: what you charge is what you set, and our commission is published on the page, not revealed after you apply. What the work looks like. Evening and weekend hours you choose. The same students week to week, not a queue. One written session note per session, which takes about four minutes and is the reason parents stay. What we ask. A credential we can verify, a subject assessment at the grade you want to teach, a recorded mock session, and two references. Most applications end at the mock session. We especially need French-language tutors for secondaire 1 to 5 mathematics.

Why: Pay first. Every tutor recruitment post that opens with mission statements is answering a question nobody asked.

LinkedInPhase 2EveryoneTell the one launch story that works on tutors, parents and partners
EEEducateED CanadaFounder postLinkedIn

We delayed our parent campaign by three weeks on purpose, and it was the right call. A tutoring marketplace fails in a specific way. A parent searches at 9pm because a test came home, signs up, and is told we will find someone soon. They do not come back. You have spent the acquisition cost and burned the one moment they were ready to act. So we set a gate. No subject and no grade level gets advertised until three vetted tutors are available for it, in the language the family will ask in. Secondary 3 math in French had to clear the same bar as grade 9 math in English before either went into an ad. It cost us three weeks of September. It bought us a first month where nobody was told to wait.

#marketplace #edtech #startups #gotomarket #canada

EEEducateED CanadaFounder postLinkedIn

#marketplace #edtech #startup #quebec #canada

Why: Publish in both languages as separate posts, not one post with a French block underneath. A stacked bilingual post performs worse in both feeds.

For anyone who runs a school council or a community centre newsletter: we wrote a two-page parent guide for report card season and you are welcome to use it, with or without our name on it. It covers how to read the comments, why picking one subject beats picking three, and the two questions worth asking at the parent-teacher meeting. There is no offer in it.
